Parking tickets in Moscow are pretty costly but there is a simple way to stop paying fines for leaving your car in a wrong place: just disguise your license plate and that’s it.
Moscow has few, if any, traffic agents, who actually walk on the street, checking the parked vehicles.
The work is done by a special gadget, Parkon, installed in a car cruising along the city streets, scanning license plates and taking pictures of the violators’ vehicles. You get your ticket by email or sent straight to a phone app.
The cars equipped with Parkons do not stop so if you cover your license plate with dirt or a piece of paper, you are good. Easy, no?
