Nearly All WWII Top-Secret Files Declassified

Russia’s defense ministry has declassified files related to the Stalingrad battle of the Second World War.

The central military archive still keeps about 2,000 WWII documents inaccessible to the public, which is 0.02 percent of the entire collection of 10 million files, according to archive spokesperson Viktoria Kayeva.

She said most of the files related to that period were classified in order to protect them, rather than to hide information.
