Russian hairdressers – both men’s and women’s – offer their clients the trendiest style of the time: Hitlerjugend.
The name sounds kind of inappropriate in a country that lost millions of lives during the second world war at the hands of Adolf Hitler’s army, including members of the youth organization named after der Führer.
There were few if any protests, except for a couple of angry posts in Facebook that led to the renaming of the style in one barbershop for boys.

In Moscow, Hitlerjugend is offered in most hairdressing salons as “an effective way to create an unforgettable image”, adding “a romantic note and emphasizing manhood.”
